Notes |
- He went to school in Tambaroora until his mother's death on 12.05.1872. Then he went to live with his oldest brother, John Hurley, and family, at Liverpool in Sydney. His (and Archer's also?) share of the large family estate was managed by John. Fred became a boarder at Newington College.
After he left Newington, Fred sat for his Public Service exams and joined the Postal Service on 28.04.1878. He was sent to Forbes in 1880 as a postal assistant.
