  Irene was generally known as Pat and retained the surname Atkins after her divorce from Alan Strath Atkins. She never had children. She lived in Sydney's eastern suburbs all her adult life, many years and Bondi Beach and later Rose Bay. At the time of her death she lived in Onslow Street, Rose Bay.
